Frames

The contrast frames surround the traffic lights and their use helps to improve the recognition of the traffic light, during the day, in relation with the sun bright of its environment.

The VRX contrast frams are available in rectangular or rounded form, in suitable dimensions, depending on the number and size of the signal fields and their required relevant technical standard, such as RiLSA, AFNOR, BSI, NEN, NBN, DS, SABS, with standard version RiLSA (Richtlinien fur Lichtsignalanlangen). They are made of electrostatically painted aluminum and are placed around the traffic light’s shell, easily through special fittings.

 

Mounting

The mounting and suspension equipment of the VRX traffic lights, is easy to use in its settings, with sufficient mechanical and environmental resistances. It consists of interchangeable parts, made of materials resistant to corrosion and aging, ensuring stable mounting and protection of their power cables. The joints connecting the luminous fields with their mountings are circular with 3o pitch rotary serrations, in order to achieve the exact angular projection of the luminous field towards the driver’s eye with safe immobilization.

VRX traffic lights are mounted on a vertical pole’s section, either through fixed pads, in a 90° arrangement between them, which require the drilling of suitable holes, or via masthead mounting system, from the following types of mounting brackets:

 

 

Single mounting brackets

They are used for the vertical mounting of a traffic light, from a position of poles fixed pads, as well as for the vertical mounting of traffic lights from pillars, walls or horizontally on curbs.

 

Single mounting brackets long

They are used for the vertical mounting of a second dissimilar traffic light (with a different number or diameter of fields), from a second position of poles fixed pads, with projection, in the same visual direction as the first traffic light.

 

Double mounting brackets

They are used for mounting two traffic lights of equal height (with the same number and diameter of fields) from one position of poles fixed pads.

 

Semi-double mounting brackets

They are used for mounting two dissimilar traffic lights (with different number or diameter of fields) from one position of poles fixed pads.

 

Mounting arms

It is used for mounting traffic lights at a distance from the vertical pole, to bypass obstacles, such as trees, that obstruct the visibility of drivers.

 

Suspension

The suspension of the VRX traffic lights is done with a suitable type of system, depending on the application as follows:

 

 

Suspension device from horizontal arm of pole

It is used to suspend one traffic light, in a vertical or horizontal arrangement, from horizontal arm of pole, projected transversely above the road. It has a joint system with adjustments in 4 axes, ensuring the most appropriate visual direction of the traffic light, towards the driver’s eye.

 

Suspension device from vertical section of pole

It is used to suspend one traffic light in horizontal arrangement, from a vertical poles section, for special applications where there are special requirements on the height of the installation of the traffic light, such as airports.

 

 

Suspension device from elliptical tunnel wall

It is used for the vertical suspension of one traffic light from a wall inside an elliptical tunnel, where there is an inequality between the above and below distance of the traffic light from the wall.

 

 

Suspension device from ceiling

It is used for suspension of one traffic light, in a vertical or horizontal arrangement, from a ceiling, in bridges, tunnels or other covered areas.

 

 

Suspension device from wire ropes across the road

It is used for suspension traffic lights from 2 stretched wire ropes, arranged across above the road. The visual projection of traffic lights is perpendicular to their center of gravity.

 

Suspension device from wire ropes diagonally at junction

It is used for suspension traffic lights from 4 stretched wire ropes, arranged diagonally above a junction. The suspension accepts from 2 to 4 traffic lights of the same number and the same diameter of luminous fields.

 

Poles

VIEREX has for the installation of VRX traffic lights, the following pole types:

• Vertical impregnated cylindrical pole, for installation of traffic lights with mounting brackets, via drilling holes on pads of pole.

• Vertical impregnated cylindrical pole, for installation of traffic lights with mounting brackets, via one masthead mounting system and lashing with stainless steel belts.

• Vertical cylindrical pole with seating base, for installation of traffic lights with mounting brackets, via drilling holes on pads of pole.

• Hexagonal truncated pyramid pole with seating base and single horizontal arm, for installation on vertical section traffic lights with mounting brackets (via drilling holes on pads) and on the horizontal arm suspension of traffic lights with suspension device.

• Telescopic cylindrical pole with seating base and single horizontal arm, for installation on the vertical section of traffic lights with mounting brackets (via drilling holes on pads) and on the horizontal arm suspension of traffic lights with suspension device.

All the above poles have one suitable 24-pole terminal cabling block, for audit connection of the cables, which enter externally from the route to the traffic controller, and the installed traffic lights of it. The terminal block contributes to the methodical classification of the cables, for their effective control in case of damage and is located either behind an internal window in the vertical section of pole, or inside the masthead mounting system.

 

Pedestrians push button

For the call of the green indication of traffic lights by pedestrians, is available from VIEREX a box with a push button for pedestrian crossings, anti-vandal type, with a metal or luminous push button.
